Report: Drake to Star in Revived UK Drama Top Boy

After two successful seasons, Top Boy was prepared for a third but the UK’s Channel 4 decided against it.

However, according to one of the show’s stars, Ashley Walters told YouTube series, “Not for the Radio”, that Drake liked the show so much, he wanted to try to save it.

In the interview, Walters said:

“Drake thought [‘Top Boy’] was proper. This was via text. I was speaking to Future mainly, Drake’s manager. We were going back and forth. And we were like, ‘Put a deal on the table’.”

Top Boy is a British drama series that revolves around the lives of the fictional Summerhouse housing estates in Hackney, East London. Meant to provide insights on the lives of those living in housing estates and the impact of drugs on the community.

Now, according to a report from the Daily Mirror, Drake will star in the reboot after acquiring the rights to the television series. The report doesn’t specify if they will keep the current UK version of the show and bring about a new season, or if they will be creating an American version.
