In an interview with talk-show host, Ellen Degeneres, Chris Evans revealed that he begins shooting for Avengers: Infinity War in May.

Evans told Ellen:

“They’ve been filming since February. I don’t start until May. There’s so many people involved.”

When Degeneres asked Evans about continuing his role as Captain America, he said:

“My contract is up. I have Avengers 3 and 4. We do Avengers 3 now; 4 is the latter part and then after that is the end of my contract.”

It will be sad to see Evans go, but if he does relinquish the shield, the Captain America mantle will likely fall to either the Falcon or the Winter Soldier based on comic book events.

“I love the character. The only reason it would end is ’cause my contract’s up. After Avengers 4, my contract is done. Talk to Marvel. If we engage further, I’d be open to it.”
