Rumor Alert: Season 2 Of American Gods May Have Already Been Ordered

Fans of Neil Gaiman’s novel, and those hooked by the trailer alike, are anxiously awaiting the premiere of American Gods later this month.

The series will focus on Shadow Moon (Ricky Wittle), an ex-convict who becomes a bodyguard for a man known as Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane), after his wife Laura Moon (Emily Browning) has died.

Gaiman has worked very closely with with showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, and is executive producing the show, so fans are hopeful that the show will be true to American Gods source material. It seems like Starz is fairly confident in the show’s success.

Though American Gods has yet to premiere, a recent report from Omega Underground claims that filming for the second season is set for this September, in Toronto, Canada.

This can only be a good sign for the show. Coupled with the great response from critics at SXSW, it looks like we’re in for a treat with American Gods, which premieres on Starz at 9 p.m. on April 30.
