Jessica Jones Begins Production On Second Season
Marvel and Netflix have been hard at work establishing their own superhero universe that is loosely connected to the larger Cinematic Universe estbalished in the films. Iron Fist is the newest Marvel series released on the popular streaming platform while production on the highly anticipated Defenders series has just wrapped. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the day that they can binge watch the mini series that brings all of the Netflix heroes together in a more grounded, Avengers-style story and now fans have more to look forward to seeing as production on the new season of Jessica Jones has begun.
The Upper West Side neighborhood in Manhattan that served as the location for the exterior of Jessica’s apartment and private investigation office have once again been decorated with those infamous pink notices that say “No Parking”. Filming is taking place at Broadway and West 101st Street to be exact. The neighborhood is also where many scenes from Daredevil were filmed as well.

The award winning series starring Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) as Jessica Jones was no doubt a critical success so a second season was bound to happen sooner than later. But the question remains, what will a second season consist of? It’s much too early to know what the ongoing plot for the new season will be about or what villain will give Jessica trouble but Marvel and Netflix have taken a step in the right direction in the inclusion department as all the episodes of the series new season will be directed by women. All of its main characters are expected to return and there is a rumor that Daredevil villain Typhoid Mary may possibly make an appearance. During the series’ first season, it was established that a mysterious organization was behind giving Jessica her abilities so perhaps we will get to explore that portion of Jessica’s life. It’s also possible that the character Trish Walker played by actress Rachel Taylor (Transformers) will become the hero known as Hellcat.
We will keep you updated on any new stories that can give us a glimpse into what we can expect from season two but for now let’s just be happy that the character isn’t coming to an end anytime soon. What are you hoping to see in the new season? Let us know in the comments below.

I believe we will see Will Simpson again, but this time as a full-time pill popping Nuke. Typhoid Mary would be fantastic to see! I’m also curious what other characters will appear, specifically ones I can audition for haha 🙂
