Star Trek: Discovery has cast one of the original series most famous characters, Harry Mudd. Fans will remember Mudd as a con man who often got the Enterprise mixed up in his schemes.
CBS’ new show has The Office alum Rainn Wilson as its Harry Mudd. His character is described as an “intergalactic criminal and charismatic con man.”
Mudd’s shenanigans usually occurred during the show’s lighter, more comical episodes. This makes Wilson a perfect choice for the updated Mudd. If Discovery decides to make the character a little darker, he can also balance the comedy with a little menace.
Despite several delays, Star Trek: Discovery is now set to hopefully debut in late Summer or early Fall on CBS, before moving to the network’s streaming platform CBS All Access.
Star Trek: Discovery also stars Jason Isaacs, Sonequa Martin-Green, Anthony Rapp, Doug Jones, James Frain and Michelle Yeoh.
