Beyonce The Top Choice to Voice Nala in the Upcoming ‘Lion King’ Remake
According to Variety, Queen Bey is director, Jon Favreau’s favourite to play Nala in Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of The Lion King.
However, the sources stress that the Grammy award winning songstress has not made a decision about the film yet; likely because the singer is pregnant with twins.
The sources also said that since it is just a voice role, they are willing to do what they can in order to accommodate Beyonce’s schedule.
Donald Glover is already signed on to voice the part of Simba, while the iconic James Earl Jones is set to reprise his role in the animated version, as Mufasa.
The original animated film was released in 1994 and made a whopping $968.5-million worldwide at the box office, making it one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time.
With Favreau set to direct, Jeff Nathanson will be penning the script. The film is being fast-tracked due to Favreau’s successful live-action remake of The Jungle Book.
If Beyonce does indeed get the role of Nala, it will be her first movie since 2013 where she voiced Queen Tara in Epic.
