Amber Heard will star in the adaptation of Peter Swanson’s The Kind Worth Killing. The 2015 novel follows a corporate takeover artist who confesses to a mysterious woman that he wishes he could kill his cheating wife, and she offers to help. This leads the two in a cat-and-mouse game, reminiscent of the film noir classic from 1944, Double Indemnity.
Crime Thrillers have become a new hot commodity in Hollywood, particularly novels that depict challenging and dynamic women. This may be Heard’s Gone Girl or The Girl On The Train. Let’s hope for the latter.
Angnieszka Holland (Europa Europa, In Darkness) will direct the film scripted by Christopher Kyle. Heard will be seen next as Mera in Justice League, set to release in November.
