Marvel Studios’ film based on the superhero known as Black Panther will be released February 16, 2018 — less than 11 months from now. However, Disney has decided to give Black Panther fans something to look forward to even sooner.

It was announced this week that Disney-Hyperion book editor Emily Meehan has made a deal for world rights to a middle grade novel about Black Panther. It will center on his childhood, and it will take place both in Chicago, Illinois, and in Wakanda, the hero’s fictional home nation.
