Aquaman Release Date Pushed Back to December 2018

Aquaman was slated to hit theatres on October 5, 2018- but has been pushed back by Warner Bros. by just over two months. It will now make it’s way into theatres in December.

James Wan was set to begin filming the superhero film in Australia in a few weeks, even posting some images on his Instagram page while scouting locations.

No reason has been given as to why the film’s release has been delayed, but as it stands right now, the only box-office competition on the superhero front in December 2018, will come from Sony’s animated Spider-Man film.

Aquaman will feature Jason Momoa as the title character who we will see again after his brief cameo in BvS: Dawn of Justice in the Justice League film set for release in November of this year. Momoa will be joined by other cast members Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, and Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master.

With this new release date, it means that there will be a year-long gap from the DCEU between Justice League and Aquaman.

Hopefully, this length of time between films won’t be an issue for Warner Bros. and the DCEU. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Aquaman will splash into cinemas on December 21, 2018.

  1. That sucks. I thought it coulda been cool/different to release on October considering the director’s horror backround. Hopefully, it at least has some scarry elements still. Dont know what could be scarrier than our mysterious deep Oceans. ^^
