Netflix Announces ‘Master of None’ Return Date

Comedian Aziz Ansari has finally announced when his Netflix hit Master of None will return for season two. The Emmy winning comedy hits the streaming service Friday, May 12.

Ansari created/writes/stars in the somewhat autobiographical story of aspiring actor Dev Shah in New York City as he tries to launch his career, find his way through the dating scene and deal with his hilariously supportive, yet slightly overbearing parents.

Season one’s standout episode Parents won the Emmy for best writing in a comedy series.

In a nice nod to real life, the breakout stars of season one were Ansari’s real parents, Shoukath and Fatima Ansari, who play his parents on the show.

Season one ended with Dev’s personal and professional life falling apart. According to TV Line season two will “take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him.”

In usual Netflix fashion all season two episodes of Master of None will debut Friday, May 12.
