Nick Fury Wants to Meet Black Panther
As the Director of S.H.I.E.L. D. and the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s only black character, Samuel L. Jackson is wondering why Nick Fury hasn’t met T’Challa yet.
In a recent interview with SiriusXM, Jackson asked why Fury was left out of the upcoming Black Panther film.
“I can’t go to Wakanda, for some reason. I’m the only black character you’ve got in the Marvel universe right now, now for some reason when you do a black Marvel movie, I can’t show up in Wakanda? Okay, fine. I’ll meet him later,” said Jackson.
Considering that almost every famous black actor is in Black Panther, it does seem weird that the one black character in the MCU is not appearing.
Also, as Director, Fury was built up as the man who knew everyone’s secrets, so obviously he would know about Wakanda’s Black Panther legacy.
Since the film has just started shooting there’s plenty of time to add in a few quick scenes. Seriously Ryan Coogler, who says no to Samuel L. Jackson?
Starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis, Black Panther is scheduled for release Feb. 16, 2018.
