Fox Says They Will Consult Hugh Jackman If Wolverine is Recast

For nearly two decades, Hugh Jackman has fully committed himself in the role of Wolverine. We have now come to the end of an era and it begs the question: What happens next?

Although Logan director, James Mangold is not opposed to revisiting Wolverine if, in his words, “Some brilliant thing came along”- but it’s not likely given the ending of the critically-acclaimed, Logan.

As it stands right now, Mangold seems more keen on the idea of directing a film featuring Dafne Keen’s, Laura/X-23.

But according to Simon Kinberg, Jackman will most certainly be involved in finding the new Wolverine- if and when that time comes. In an interview with Deadline, Kinberg said:

“We haven’t even thought of the next iteration of Wolverine. For all of us, we were keeping our fingers crossed that the audiences would respond to ‘Logan’ the way they have. I can’t visualize in my head another Wolverine, but — if that day ever comes — we would talk to Hugh [Jackman] about it.”

Jackman believes that the iconic character will go on, it’s just a matter of when.
