‘Star Trek: Discovery’adds Jason Isaacs as Captain
CBS’ long awaited Star Trek: Discovery has added another prominent actor to its star-studded cast.
Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter, The OA) has been chosen to lead the Starship Discovery as Captain Lorca.
The newest entry in the legendary franchise follows the Discovery as it finds new life and planets to explore. It focuses on Lieutenant Commander Rainsford, played by The Walking Dead’s Sonequa Martin-Green.
The cast includes Doug Jones as Saru, an alien science officer, Anthony Rapp as Stamets, a science officer, Michelle Yeoh as the captain of the Shenzhou and James Frain as a young Sarek, Spock’s father.

The show’s pre-production has been mired in setbacks and delays.
In a recent meeting with investors CBS Chairman Les Moonves said the show will premiere in late summer or early fall.
“It’s important to get it right,” Moonves said. “Star Trek is the family jewels. We’re not going to rush it in. There’s a lot of post-production. But I’m very confident based on what I’ve seen so far.”
