The cast of the Maze Runner trilogy has returned to film The Death Cure, the final installment of the book-to-film adaptations. James Dashner, author of the original novels, posted the photograph below of the cast earlier today on Instagram.

From left to right: Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Rosa Salazar, Dexter Darden, Ki Hong Lee, Will Poulter, and Dylan O’Brien.

The filming is on location in Cape Town, South Africa. The cast has also been seen out and about in the city, interacting and posing for photos with fans.

The Death Cure was originally set to release in February of this year. Unfortunately, Dylan O’Brien – the leading star of the franchise – suffered a serious accident onset when a car stunt went awry in March of 2016. At the time, details of O’Brien’s accident were scarce and the severity of his injuries were downplayed. It was later learned that his injuries were nearly fatal and he required facial reconstructive surgery. As a result, the status of the film was uncertain. After over 9 months of recovery, O’Brien has regained his strength and is ready to conclude the final chapter of the Maze Runner series. The Death Cure is expected to release on January 12, 2018.

We’re happy to see the cast back with Dylan O’Brien looking strong and well. Are you excited for the final Maze Runner movie?
