David Dastmalchian Joins ‘The Flash’ as Abra Kadabra

Actor David Dastmalchian, best known for his roles in The Dark Knight and Ant-Man has just been cast as the DC villain Abra Kadabra.

Dastmalchian’s first appearance is set for later in this season, according to an exclusive report from DC Comics. The synopsis describes the villain “as a criminal from a distant future whose advanced technological powers seem like magic, the time-traveling Abra Kadabra (David Dastmalchian) holds a secret the Flash will stop at nothing to uncover.”

Abra Kadabra is a Silver age character, originating in 1962 in “THE FLASH” #128. Kadabra is a stage magician from the 64th century who travels back in time to become famous in the present day, though The Flash often defeats him.

Though he has no real powers, Kadabra recently was a major force in “TITANS Rebirth,” where it was revealed that he was responsible for Wally West’s disappearance.

It should be interesting to see how Wally, Barry Allen, and the rest of the team interact with Kadabra’s presence later this season.
