Principal photography has already started on the film and fans have speculated that Williams could possibly be playing a villain being that he was cast so late. Williams has definitely proven that he has the ability and presence to play a diverse amount of roles so playing a villain wouldn’t be too much of a stretch.

Williams has joined an already star studded cast with the likes of Emilia Clarke (Game Of Thrones, Terminator Genisys), Thandie Newton (Westworld, The Chronicles Of Riddick), Woody Harrelson (The Hunger Games, Zombieland), Golden Globe winner Donald Glover (Atlanta, The Martian) and Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures, Blue Jasmine) who will be playing the iconic role of Han Solo, which was previously brought to life by Harrison Ford in the original trilogy.

The script was written by the father-son screenwriting duo Lawrence Kasdan (Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Jon Kasdan (The First Time, In The Land Of Women) and will be directed by Phil Lord (The Lego Movie, 22 Jump Street) and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs). An official title or synopsis for the film has not yet been released but it has been confirmed that it is somewhat of a prequel because it takes place right before the film Star Wars: A New Hope.

Congratulations Michael K Williams. We are excited to see you join one of the most beloved franchises by Geeks around the world. What do you think of this casting? Let us know in the comments below.

The Untitled Han Solo Stars Wars Film will force it’s way into theaters May 25, 2018.
