Donnie Yen Stars in Neal Moritz’s ‘Sleeping Dogs’

Neal Moritz, known for amazing franchise productions such as I am Legend, The Fast and the Furious and 21 Jump Street, has a new film in the works. Today, there are reports that he is set to produce an upcoming original film titled Sleeping Dogs.

Deadline has announced that Sleeping Dogs will be based on the best-selling video game by Square Enix. The premise is about an undercover police officer whose mission is to take down the Triads, one of the most powerful and dangerous criminal organization in the world. Donnie Yen, fresh off his role as Chirrut Imwe in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is set to star in this upcoming film playing the lead undercover cop role, bringing martial arts and action back to bigger film audiences.

Yen received attention in his roles as Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man in the Ip Man trilogy, but has been catapulted to worldwide blockbuster fame as the Force-sensitive warrior on Garth Edwards’ Star Wars prequel. Yen has also appeared in xXx: Return of Xander Cage and 2014’s The Monkey King 2.
