‘Avengers: Infinity War’ May Be Most Expensive Film Ever Produced

The MCU is so big. How big is it?! It’s so big that the next Avengers installment may have a $1 billion budget for Avengers: Infinity War. Yeah, you read that right. Pinewood Atlanta studio head Dan Cathy let it slip at the African-American Film Critics luncheon that there’s a movie on slate to have a budget of $1 billion. According to Cathy:

“We now have on the lot down there now the largest film production ever with a $1 billion budget,”

Although Dan couldn’t confirm which movie it was due to studio agreements, both Infinity War parts 1 & 2 are scheduled to be filmed at Pinewood. Marvel isn’t new to big numbers, with Avengers peaking as the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time in 2012 and now sitting comfortably at #5. Just think, the budget for Avengers was $220 million, and Marvel definitely got the bang for its buck with the success of that movie.

This shouldn’t come as a shock to fans though. With a cast as massive as this, the salaries must be through the roof. Along with locations that need to be filmed, and the millions of dollars that will be spent on visual effects to bring fighting Thanos to life is enough to warrant a billion dollar budget in its own.

What do you say? Is $1 billion enough to make Infinity War as lit as it needs to be? Here’s hoping!
