The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 trailer during the Super Bowl was not the only news from the Marvel Cinematic Universe this weekend.
Cinemablend reports that Gunn has revealed his heavy involvement in the Avengers: Infinity War as executive producer. This comes after news of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot’s set to appear in the Infinity War movies.
Essentially known as the “Guardian of the Guardians,” Gunn’s role as executive producer of the much anticipated 2018 superhero film shows that he wants to make sure that his characters and their actors are to be accurately depicted in the upcoming installation of the Marvel film series.
Gunn describes his roles in Infinity War in the quote below:
“Yes, I’m an Executive Producer on Infinity War. I’ve been working hard with the Russo brothers, with the Marvel guys, with Kevin Feige, to make sure that any of the characters that I’m involved with, that are in that movie are well taken care of and are as funny as they should be, and is are as honest and truthful as they should be. So I’ve been dealing with them all the time. I’ve been talking to the actors on set every single day as we go through production, and it’s been a great experience so far.”
Avengers: Infinity War will begin filming this year, and is set to premiere on May 4, 2018.
