Channing Tatum Confirmed To Still Be Attached to ‘Gambit’ Project
When it comes to 20th Century Fox’s Gambit movie many things are still unkown about where it is development wise, or if its even still a thing. Well we finally have an update on the status of the project. Though its not much, it is better than nothing at all. The super-producer Lauren Shuler Donner confirmed today during TCA 2017 for FX’s upcoming superhero series Legion, that Fox hasn’t scrapped the film just yet and star Channing Tatum is still attached to the project as of now.
If you don’t know ,Shuler Donner has been a key member behind the scenes of many of the X-Men film franchise, which include the Wolverine spin-offs, and the Deadpool franchise. After the Legion panel Shuler Donner was asked a few questions, starting with the surprising success of Deadpool:
“Listen, it took us 10 years to get it made, so yes I’m surprised! I’m thrilled, is a better word.”
The main focus as of lately has been Deadpool 2 and its latest news, its expected casting of the superhero Cable. My boy Mike Tison would make a great Cable! That was a joke. We already know that Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead will return as well Dopinder (The Goat), but the casting for Cable has yet to be announced. Here’s Shuler Donner’s update:
“No casting announcement. It will happen soon. When the right time comes along and we’re ready. We have a list.”
Then Donner was asked casting questions for Gambit, she confirmed:
Is Channing Tatum still attached?
“At this point, yes.”
What’s he’s doing to prepare?
“You’ll have to ask Channing.”
So it looks like Gambit is still in motion and maybe the success of Deadpool has helped it progress. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t asking for this movie, nor will I be hurt if it doesnt happen but make sure to share your thoughts about the fate of the Gambit movie! Stay lit
