Ah, video game films, how we love you so.

Uncharted is the next successful video game franchise that’s set to receive the live-action treatment, and of course, people are worried. Not even 2016’s Warcraft or Assassin’s Creed were able to shake the curse of bad video game-to-film adaptations. However there are some positive things to look forward to with this film: Shawn Levy (Real Steel, Night at The Museum) is directing it, and he’s been pretty well-received in the industry. As well as that, Joe Carnahan is writing the script, and he’s just shared the news that it’s complete.

Obviously Carnahan has a lot of faith in this script if he’s calling it “Monstrously cool” and “a BEAST.” But that’s good. We all want this to be a great movie, so let’s hope the script is a beast, because God knows we don’t need another mediocre video game movie.

Uncharted is still without a release date, but as soon as we know, we’ll let you guys know.
