Matt Ryan Making a Comeback as Constantine in CW Seed Animated Series
By: Okon Essien
Don’t you just love it when a cancelled show comeback in some way or another?
Constantine aired in October 2014 on NBC, and sadly it was one of DC’s less-than-successful attempts at expanding their TV universe. Fans were upset by this, but then they were slightly treated when the character got the chance to appear on The CW’s Arrow – with Matt Ryan returning to portray the character – for one episode. This was a fan-favorite episode, because lets face it: everything works better on The CW (looking at you, Supergirl). So naturally, it was only a matter of time until we were introduced to the character again in some form or another.
It was just announced by CW network head Mark Pedowitz at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, that Matt Ryan would be returning to play the role of Constantine – with DC TV “overseer” Greg Berlanti producing – on CW Seed, the network’s platform for digital media. Pedowitz stated that one of the reasons for his inclusion is that his appearance on Arrow “added dimension” to the show. Along with the announcement came a look at a new poster for the animated series. Check it out below:
There’s not really any details left other than the ones we shared, but as soon as more info hits the web, we’ll update it here.
