Shane Black is directing the project and wrote the script with Fred Dekker. We don’t know much about the plot, but the story sees the popular stalker alien, first seen in the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger pic titled simply Predator, in an environment that audiences have not seen: the suburbs. Rhodes will play the best friend of Holbrook’s character; both are said to be ex-Marines.

Rhodes is one of the breakout stars of Moonlight, A24’s drama that itself is a breakout this awards season. Rhodes plays a young gay man who comes of age in drug-addled Miami. The movie has six Golden Globe nominations, including one for best picture, going into this weekend.

Rhodes recently joined Chris Hemsworth and Michael Pena in Horse Soldiers, a war drama being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Black Label Media. He also stars on the Tyler Perry show If Loving You Is Wrong, which airs on OWN.
