Ryan Reynolds Wants a Deadpool & Wolverine Movie

By Okon Essien

At this point, there’s no denying that Deadpool was a box office hit. Becoming the highest grossing R-Rated film of all time is no easy feat, but Ryan Reynolds and the team that worked on the movie seemed to pull it off with ease. We all know by now that Deadpool and Cable are going to team up at some point in the sequel, but what about the next adventure? Who’s next on the list of potential partners – or potential punching bags – for the Merc with a Mouth to pair up with? Well, Ryan Reynolds himself had a specific Mutant played by a specific Australian in mind, and his name rhymes with “Polverine.”

In a recent interview with EW, Reynolds shares his desire to convince Hugh Jackman to put the claws on once more and team up with him on the big screen:

“I want Deadpool and Wolverine in a movie together. What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh. If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line.

Hugh Jackman is one of the best human beings. Part of the reason I want to do a Deadpool/Wolverine movie is not just because I think the two would light the screen on fire but I genuinely love the guy.”

Although we’d love to pretend that monstrosity called X-Men Origins: Wolverine never existed, sadly it does. The only positive that stemmed from it was that we got a small glimpse of how Wolverine and… “Deadpool” would interact in a movie together. It’s a no-brainer that fans would be ecstatic to see a team-up between these two characters, but there’s the small problem of Hugh Jackman quitting the role after Logan. What’s more, it looks like they’re looking to reboot Wolverine with a new actor. Either way, we’ve got our fingers crossed for Fox to fix their convoluted X-Men timeline and makes this work somehow.
