The cast for Marvel’s upcoming female-led superhero adventure Captain Marvel has been filling out very nicely with a star-studded cast that includes Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, and Gemma Chan just to name a few. Now a report from THR confirms that four time Oscar nominee Annette Bening has joined the cast.

Annette Bening is a powerful actress whose acting credits include American Beauty, 20th Century Women, The Kids Are Alright and the list goes on. News of her casting is definitley a surprise to many because Bening usually avoids starring in big studio films so joining a project that’s apart of such a huge machine like Marvel/Disney must mean that the role (and the check) was worth an emphatic ‘Yes’.
