During a press conference for her latest movie, Malaysian actress Raja Ilya revealed she’s been contacted for a role in an upcoming Marvel title. She does not give any specific information about what the role is or what Marvel title exactly, but she does make it clear she is in the works with Marvel executives.

I’ve just been informed to fly to Hollywood by the end of the year for role selection and for which Marvel title,” said the actress during her interview with star2.com. This could mean the role is very small, but that’s doubtful considering some other piece of information Ilya gave during the interview. It’s worth nothing that the piece of information also sort of makes it seem as the role is still being discussed and final decisions are still being made.

When discussing preparation for the role Ilya said, “For about six months, I will start my training classes at Jakarta with Yayan Ruhian before I fly to Hollywood.” Marvel having her train for such a long period of time as well with a known martian artist and actor indicates that the role might be bigger than the standard smaller roles in Marvel films. Perhaps she’s a new villain or even a smaller-tier hero?
